Two years ago I had my gallbladder removed. Prior to the surgery, I spent an entire day in the emergency rooms, had two MRIs, two x-rays and two CAT scans. A slew of lab tests later, I’m tens of thousands of dollars in debt. And, I had health insurance from my employer at the time. Creditors call every day. I live in a rural area where incomes are limited, and I cannot see myself getting out of this debt. It just doesn’t seem right or fair.
