The SB 810 campaign will be starting in Jan ‘10 because the Governor in June tabled all legislation with a potential fiscal impact to January so he could get a Budget passed. State activities have been minimized to avoid conflicts of meaning between state health insurance and national healthcare reform efforts. Stay tuned!

I attended the “Sneak Preview” of a few dozen 30-second video segments of celebrities speaking in support of single-payer in California. I was very glad to see how fresh, heart-felt, informative, and compelling virtually all of them were. One recommendation: please add a little identifying information about each speaker, not just their names, many of which were unfamiliar to me and others.

Hey Californians!!! What are you smokin over there??? Your state is bankrupt! You have no more money! You have lost all of the clout and pride that you once had! Your businesses are moving out in droves!! You can’t afford any more entitlement programs! Maybe it makes more sense to move to Canada if you want free healthcare! In Canada, although public healthcare is nationally mandated, each province has and administers its own version of the program. I think state strategies for public healthcare in the US are a good way to proceed incrementally if you can’t get a national public option, and I wish Californians the best of luck in getting it done.

Great ad with Lily Tomlin. We need more ads like that with a simple message that hits home. With humor if possible. I don’t see a need for 365 different ads, though. Save money and recycle 180.

Since we don’t kNow what kinD of watered down version of health care will by passed by congress (if at all) All of us Californians need to get behind Single Payer Legislation. We need a promotion like this to counter all the Healthcare industry/Republican lies and tell the real story about health care in our state.

SB 810 has provisions and funding in it to retrain and help place those affected by the transition. It’s a legitimate concern, but the legislation addresses it.
